Mission Statement

Nowadays, a love for cinema can be potentially ruinous.  At over twelve dollars a ticket, few movies are worth their price and the critics seem to have forgotten why people go to the cinema.  They heap praise on films that leave audiences snoring and ignore real gems because of limited distribution or press budgets in the thousands instead of the millions.

I am a life-long cinephile.  For the hope of screen magic I will gladly trek to the most remote art house cinema or brave the lines at the latest blockbuster release.

An Aisle Seat is an honest, reliable guide to films that are worth their ticket price – and I am always right!

- Stephen Courter

Life is a disease for which the movies are a cure. – Quentin Crisp
